Home of Hope, Texas is a Houston based non-profit that is in the process of building a shelter for sex trafficking victims. Very few such shelters exist in the US, even though sex trafficking of teenagers in the USA is a burgeoning crisis.

According to the Justice Department, Houston is the largest US hubs for human trafficking.

Some 6,000 children wander the streets of Houston on any given night–all runaways, and all high risk targets for child sex trafficking. In just the past ten years, 500 girls have been rescued from human trafficking in Houston alone. The average age of those entering the industry is 13, and their life wexpectancy is just 7 years.

According to the US State Department, there are as many as 300,000 child victims of human trafficking in the US today. One of the greatest needs that exists in the war against human trafficking is Long Term Care. With thousands of victims, there are only 500 beds in the US dedicated for rescued girls. Only 25 of those beds are in Texas. Home of Hope, Texas, seeks to change that.
